Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our handcrafted rustic sliding doors and hardware.
What kind of wood is used in Dusty's Rustic Rolling Doors?
We primarily use reclaimed barn wood, knotty pine, and premium cedar. Each piece is hand-selected for its unique grain patterns and rustic character to ensure no two doors are exactly alike.
Do the doors come with the sliding hardware included?
Yes, all our door kits include heavy-duty steel tracks, rollers, floor guides, and anti-jump disks. You can choose from various finishes like matte black, oil-rubbed bronze, or brushed stainless steel.
How do I determine what size door I need for my opening?
For a standard sliding barn door, we recommend that the door is at least 2 inches wider than the opening and 1 inch taller to ensure full coverage and privacy.
What is the typical lead time for a custom door order?
Because our doors are handcrafted to order, lead times typically range from 3 to 5 weeks. This allows our artisans to properly cure, sand, and finish the wood to our high quality standards.
How are these oversized items shipped?
Our doors are shipped via specialized LTL (Less Than Truckload) freight carriers. They are securely crated in plywood to prevent damage during transit. The carrier will contact you to schedule a curbside delivery appointment.
Can I install these doors myself, or do I need a professional?
While many of our customers are DIY enthusiasts, we recommend having two people for installation due to the weight of the solid wood. Detailed instructions are included with every hardware kit.
